Diwanjimoola Grand Prix is the passion of a locality that is being exported to the bigger experience by a larger community. Directed by the distinguished film maker Anil Radhakrishnan Menon, Diwanjimoola Grand Prix has the uniqueness that the director follows. His movies are entirely different from one another by its story and the approach. This movie too marks a different approach from him with some societal messages and insisting people to have unity to bring peace. Anil Radhakrishnan Menon might be proud to bring such a good story for the society.
Sajan Joseph I A S is appointed as the new collector of Thrissur district and he is a good person and wants to do good for the people too. While he checks the pending compliances, he comes across something related to a place called Diwanjimoola. The colony was once a place of equality and happiness but the intrusion of political parties into their happy life make it worse both for them and the society. He decides to bring changes and he gets the support of Effy Mol, a smart and bold girl. She is the daughter of a veteran racer named Jithendran. Kunchakko Boban as Sajan Joseph seems to be fit for the character with his appearance and mannerisms. The script by ‘Collector Bro’ might have influenced in it. Kunchakko Boban had a character with the same name in Lohitadas movie Kasthooriman. It is Nyla Usha’s Effy Mol who is the centre of attraction throughout the movie with her good piece of acting.
Anil Radhakrishnan Menon’s movies are not hero – centric but the public centric..! a big list of characters are there in his all the movies and they do their part to the best. Diwanjimooola Grand Prix too falls in the same category and the characters do their best. Sidhique’s Jithendran stands atop among them and his acting is always brilliant. The new comer Rahul is Shathan is yet another character and he is a promising actor and his talents are not to be side-stepped. Leaf Vasu, Ganeshan and Badhiran from the movie Sapthamshree Thaskaraha are back in the story as pivotal ones and they continue to make the laughs. Ashokan as Rishi, Tini Tom as Subhran, Vinayakan as Vareeth, Ketaki Narayanan as Peeli Mol and all others make their roles important to the storyline with their acting.
Diwanjimoola Grand Prix, co-scripted by Anil Radhakrishnan Menon and ‘Collector Bro’ Prashant M Nair, is good treat for everyone and movie has lot of messages too for the society told in a satirical way. Gopi Sunder’s music brought more excitement with story and the grand prix. The young and vibrant Alex J Pulikkal’s camera works are also praiseworthy. Diwanjimoola Grand Prix clearly focuses on the point that equality and unity of society is always precious and if it is lost there are ways to bring it back.
