Recently deceased Malayalam play back singer Radhika Thilak had been the golden voice in Malayalam Film Industry whose was definitely a big loss to the industry. She breathed her last in Cochin on Sunday at a private hospital. She had been suffering from cancer and was admitted to the hospital due to fever just before two days of her death. Due to infection her condition became vulnerable and the worst health condition ended in death. She is survived by husband Suresh and daughter Devika, who is a student at NUALS, Cochin.
Radhika Thilak began her career with the song Pulkodithumbilum in Sanghaganam and later she was grown into fame with the song Maayamanchalil in Ottayalpattalam with G Venugopal, who is a close relative of Radhika. She has sung more than 70 songs in Malayalam films and which include Devasangeetham Neeyalle (Guru), Ninte Kannil Virunnuvannu, Ente Ulludukkum Kotti (Deepasthambham Mahascharyam) ,Thakil Pukil (Ravanaprabhu) Manassil Midhunamazha (Nandhanam) ,Manjakkiliyude(Kanmadam) etc. She completed her studies at Chinmaya Vidyalaya,Ernakulam and St. Teresa’s College, Ernakulam. She was the first prizewinner for Light Music at Kerala University Youth Festival. She became famous with the Bhajans and light music sung at Air India. She had also sung numerous devotional songs and had been popular face in stage shows. Paravoor Sisters and Play back singers Sujatha and Venugopal are her relatives.
