ഒരു വലിയ ഇടവേളക്ക് ശേഷം തീയറ്ററുകളിൽ എത്തുന്ന സൂര്യ ചിത്രമായ എതർക്കും തുനിന്തവന് ബ്ലോക്ക്ബസ്റ്റർ റിപ്പോർട്ടുകൾ. കൊവിഡ് കാലത്ത് ഒടിടി റിലീസുകളിലൂടെ നേട്ടമുണ്ടാക്കിയ നടനാണ് സൂര്യ. തിയറ്ററുകളില്‍ സമീപകാല ചിത്രങ്ങളില്‍ ഭൂരിഭാഗവും പരാജയമായിരുന്നെങ്കിലും സൂര്യയുടെ തുടര്‍ച്ചയായ രണ്ട് ഒടിടി റിലീസുകള്‍ പ്രേക്ഷകപ്രീതി നേടി. സുധ കൊങ്കരയുടെ സംവിധാനത്തിലെത്തിയ സൂരറൈ പോട്രും ടി ജെ ജ്ഞാനവേല്‍ സംവിധാനം ചെയ്‍ത ജയ് ഭീമും ആയിരുന്നു ഈ ചിത്രങ്ങള്‍.
പാണ്ടിരാജ് തന്നെ രചനയും നിര്‍വ്വഹിച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന ചിത്രത്തില്‍ പ്രിയങ്ക അരുള്‍ മോഹന്‍ ആണ് നായിക. ‘പസങ്ക’, ‘ഇത് നമ്മ ആള്’, ‘നമ്മ വീട്ടു പിള്ളൈ’ തുടങ്ങിയ ചിത്രങ്ങളിലൂടെ ശ്രദ്ധ നേടിയ സംവിധായകനാണ് പാണ്ടിരാജ്. വിനയ് റായ്, സത്യരാജ്, രാജ്കിരണ്‍, ശരണ്യ പൊന്‍വണ്ണന്‍, സൂരി, സിബി ഭുവനചന്ദ്രന്‍, ദേവദര്‍ശിനി, എം എസ് ഭാസ്കര്‍, ജയപ്രകാശ് തുടങ്ങിയവരാണ് മറ്റു കഥാപാത്രങ്ങളെ അവതരിപ്പിക്കുന്നത്. ഛായാഗ്രഹണം ആര്‍ രത്നവേലു, എഡിറ്റിംഗ് റൂബന്‍, സംഗീതം ഡി ഇമ്മന്‍. സൂര്യയുടെ കരിയറിലെ 40-ാം ചിത്രം എന്ന പ്രത്യേകതയുമുണ്ട് എതര്‍ക്കും തുനിന്തവന്.
രണ്ടര വർഷത്തിന് ശേഷമാണ് ഒരു സൂര്യ ചിത്രം തീയറ്ററുകളിൽ റിലീസിന് എത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നത്. സ്ത്രീകൾക്ക് വേണ്ടിയുള്ള ഒരു പോരാട്ടം കൂടിയാണ് ചിത്രം പറഞ്ഞുവെക്കുന്നത്. കാലികപ്രസക്തിയുള്ള ഒരു വിഷയം കൊമേർഷ്യൽ രീതിയിൽ അവതരിപ്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നത് കൊണ്ട് തന്നെയാണ് ചിത്രം ഏറെ കൈയ്യടി നേടുന്നത്. ഇന്റർവെൽ ബ്ലോക്കിനും ക്ലൈമാക്സിനും വമ്പൻ കൈയ്യടികളാണ് ലഭിക്കുന്നത്.
